The Kitsap County-City of Bremerton HOME Consortium has received $2,653,349 of HOME-American Rescue Plan funds from the US Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to address the need for housing and supportive services for families who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or in other vulnerable populations. The City of Bremerton will receive $822,538 of the total allocation. Together the City of Bremerton and Kitsap County will set-aside funds for BHA to undertake a housing counseling program to assist households in using Housing Choice Vouchers to secure permanent housing countywide. The City’s remaining funds will be used in partnership with BHA on a rental development in Bremerton.

A 15-day comment period is now open for the HOME-ARP Allocation Plan. The plan details the populations to be served, eligible activities, consultations with housing and service providers, needs assessment, and how funds will be distributed.
