Kitsap County Developing Plan for Expansion of Bicycle + Ev Charging

0Comments

Kitsap is working on new regulations to encourage/require new developments and redevelopments to install EV and bicycle charging facilities in urban, rural commercial, industrial zones and LAMIRD areas.

In doing so, the county hopes to:

Increase non-motorized and low/no emission transportation options

Improve public health outcomes with cleaner air and active transportation

Reduce Greenhouse Gas emissions to support climate change resiliency

Public hearings of draft proposals are expected to begin in October, with the target of adopting new regulations by January for implementation in the coming year.
