The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) issued an alert for expected delays on the SR305 near Murden Creek.  Please allow for extra travel time during the week days starting Mon. Aug 22.  The below alert is directly from WSDOT.

 FROM WSDOT:

 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each weekday through Aug 31

  • Travelers approaching North Madison Avenue Northeast/Sportsman Club Road Northeast can expect occasional traffic stops.
  • While crews will work as quickly as soon as possible, travelers can expect at least 20-minute delays.

Travelers are encouraged to add time especially if they are going to the Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal. If possible, please consider going before or after the work.

This type of work must be done during daylight hours due to safety reasons. The work is related to fish barrier removal project at Murden Creek. To make room for the improvements, crews will temporarily stop traffic during tree felling. Information about the tree replacement program is available vis the WSDOT blog.

 Speed limit reduction coming
As soon as Mon., Aug. 22, travelers will notice a reduced speed limit on a portion of SR 305 on Bainbridge Island.

Crews will install new speed limit signs:

  • 35 mph between milepost 2.44 and 2.35 near North Madison Avenue Northeast/Sportsman Club Road Northeast.

The reduced speed limit is enforceable as soon as the signs are installed. The shoulders have been removed in both directions. Bicyclists can ride with traffic or follow a signed detour. The previous speed limit was 50 mph. The speed limit will remain reduced until roadway construction is largely complete.
