Kitsap County announced on June 19 that it submitted its application to state Secretary of Health John Wiesman requesting approval to move from Phase 2 to Phase 3 of the state's Safe Start COVID-19 recovery plan.
The request was approved by the Kitsap Public Health Board and Kitsap County Board of Commissioners, according to a press release from Kitsap County.
A move to Phase 3 will allow additional business, social and recreational activities to resume in Kitsap County, with limitations and safety measures in place. Restrictions will be eased on some businesses that already opened under Phase 2 as well.
During Phase 3 of the state’s recovery plan, non-essential travel will resume. Outdoor group recreational sports activities consisting of 50 or fewer people will also be allowed and recreational facilities, which include gyms and public pools, will be allowed to operate at 50% capacity.
Restaurants will be allowed to operate at 75% capacity and have table sizes of no larger than 10 seats, according to the press release.
