Kitsap County wants feedback from the public on its strategic plan that guides the distribution of funds for behavioral health services.
Individuals can take part in an online survey from the Kitsap County Department of Human Services until Oct. 15, according to a press release on Kitsap County’s website.
“Gaps identified in this community survey will help community leaders and behavioral health professionals as they update the current strategic plan and establish funding objectives and strategies for future years,” the press release states.
The Mental Health, Chemical Dependency and Therapeutic Court Program Strategic Plan provides details on how the treatment sales tax should be used for behavioral health funding. The treatment sales tax, which represents 1/10th of 1 percent of sales and use tax, was adopted by the Kitsap County Board of Commissioners in September 2013.
The online survey will ask respondents questions such as what elements of the behavioral health system are working and what elements are insufficient, and how gaps in the system should be addressed.
