City of Bremerton issued the following announcement on Oct. 23.
I support the work to Get Out the Vote, especially for our communities of color. As a member of the Kitsap Chapter of the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People), I encourage our citizens who may not have registered or participated in prior elections to exercise their right to vote.
Nationwide this Saturday, NAACP chapters all over the country (including our local chapter in Kitsap) will be working on Get Out the Vote efforts. This is an important opportunity to engage communities of color to vote who may not have participated in the past. Registering to vote is still possible over the next few weeks. Register online until Oct. 26 or at open voting centers up until election day on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
