City of Bainbridge Island issued the following announcement on Dec. 15.

The City's COVID-19 test site will be closed Dec. 24 to Jan. 3 to allow our incredible volunteers to have time off. This will also give staff time to inventory test site supplies and prepare for testing in 2021. We will be back open for testing on Monday, Jan. 4.

As of Dec. 11, the City's site has tested 631 people and there were nine positive test results (less than 1.5% positivity rate).

The testing site started with 24 appointments per day and has now increased to 48 appointments per day.

Due to a significant increase of COVID-19 testing across the state, the University of Washington lab results are delayed. People who receive a test should now expect results in 48 to 72 hours.
