Update by Waste Management to Bremerton customers: Due to the closure of the Olympic View Transfer Station, Waste Management (WM) was not running garbage routes last Monday, April 4. The transfer station was closed today due to a mechanical issue. According to Waste Management, please pull garbage carts from the curb and place them out Monday, April 11, and WM will collect garbage missed due to this issue on April 11 for no extra charge.
The City has received an update from Waste Management regarding service on Tuesday, April 5: The Olympic View Transfer Station is not operational, and there is not sufficient capacity to restore regular garbage routes on Tuesday, April 5. At this time, WM has advised they will not be collecting garbage from residents and businesses on Tuesday, April 5. (Recycling and yard waste routes will not be affected and will be running on Tuesday, April 5). However, for the latest service updates and information on service for Tuesday, April 5, please check the Waste Management Service Alerts page at https://servicealerts.wmnorthwest.com/bremerton. WM will provide an update to the Waste Management Service Alert page if there are changes regarding garbage service for Wednesday, April 6.
