Welcome to our newest team member at the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, C.H.E.T. (Citizen’s Helpful Engagement Tool).  CHET’s badge number is 256K.

To enhance the customer experience at our offices, we have developed a computer kiosk in the lobby that citizens can use for a variety of tasks including filing an online informational report, applying for a concealed pistol license, and requesting public records.

CHET has been assigned to the KCSO precinct in Port Orchard and began their career on Monday.  Depending on CHET’s success and effectiveness, look to see additional kiosks to appear in the future in Silverdale and possibly other locations in the county.  As we evaluate CHET’s success, we will look to add to the services that can be provided using this technology.

Our goal is to improve access to Sheriff’s Office services for those who may not have computer access in their homes or the time to wait in line at the Sheriff’s Office precinct, which can be quite busy at times. Of course, if using CHET is not your preference, our professional staff are still ready and able to help you with your needs!

The next time you are in the Port Orchard precinct, give CHET a try and let us know about your experience!
