Kitsap County and local cities have used the over $24 million in federal CARES Act funding that has been designated to the area for many projects with the majority of the funds going towards public health, according to city officials.
A portion of federal CARES Act funding will be used for the purchase of touchscreen Chromebooks for kindergarteners, portable Wi-Fi hotspots and tutoring for the City of Bremerton and Kitsap County area students who are doing remote learning during the pandemic.
Washington State along with Kitsap, King, Pierce, Spokane and Yakima Counties are continuing their downward trend in unemployment claims with the manufacturing sector seeing the highest percentage of recent claims.
